Good Evening Everyone!
I'd like to take a moment to say that my blog is officially back, up, and running! Yay! It feels so good to be back up, blogging and posting again. I apologize for the significant gap of time between posts, but we all know how crazy life can get. Allow me to catch you up briefly: In the time I have been away, I have recently completed a year externship at Panera, graduated from Culinary school, dabbled in a few different jobs, done some self discovery, made a few life changes, and have been on some pretty epic and amazing adventures and experiences over the past year and a half! As I restart my blog, I will be sharing with you some of these awesome memories, travels, and of course food that I got the pleasure to experience. I will be trying to post every 1-2 weeks if possible. i hope you will all join me and follow along as we re-kick off Layered LA.
To celebrate being back, I am posting one of my favorite all time personal recipes: Shannon's Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies, located under the Recipe tab!
If you are a family member or friend of mine, chances are you have had the privilege of trying this amazing dessert. Oh how lucky you are! This recipe has to be one of my favorites in that, every time I make a batch of these delicious cookies, I always am asked "What's my secret?" "What makes them so irresistibly good?!" With their light, soft, and chewy center, it makes it hard for your mouth not to water, just reading the recipe. A handful of chips in every bite with the perfect size and golden brown edges, their is nothing short of perfection about these simple, but extraordinary cookies. One batch and you'll be hooked. The secret is not only a SINGLE ingredient, but also HOW it is prepared. If you read the recipe you will see that I do things a little differently in order to get a certain taste and that the "secret" ingredient is just icing on the cake. I urge you to try this recipe as the holidays draw near, I'm sure, as you get the recipe down to perfection as I have, everyone you know will be begging for more as these amazing cookies become a must-have at every get together and for any occasion. I know it is near impossible to have only one! Trust me, I've tried. I dare you to only make one batch! Good Luck!
PS. Comment on what you think the secret ingredient was and what you thought of this recipe. I'm interested to see if anyone can resist!
Happy Layering!
